ARC Volunteer Appreciation Brunch
Dino, Jenny, Mandy, Dave
Jenny, Shirley, Mandy
Since this is Volunteer Week, we would like to thank all those players who go out of their way to help new players learn the basics and develop their skills of pickleball at ARC. When an experienced player plays even one game with a new player, you have no idea how much the new player appreciates it and how valuable it is to the way they feel about our group. It really helps their game and brings them back. It also makes the experienced players feel good about themselves.
Dave, Shirley, Mike, Herb, Catherine and 45 other volunteers were invited to ARC Volunteer Appreciation Brunch April 18 and received Volunteer Appreciation awards from the City of Abbotsford. The speakers were Mayor Bruce Banman, Mark Taylor, General Manager Parks, Recreation & Culture, Jenny Thornton, Facility Manager, Mandy Hadfield, Recreation Manager, Ryan Coreau, Recreation Coordinator and Dino Tsembelis, Volunteer Coordinator.
The Mayor's hair is all shaved off for cancer research: The Abbotsford Times http://www.abbotsfordtimes.com/story.html?id=6468516 1 day ago – Abbotsford Mayor Bruce Banman and Heat goalie and cancer survivor ... see him sacrifice his locks and set a $30000 minimum for his head shave. ... funds raised will support cancer patients and research at Abbotsford's B.C. Cancer Agency. ... The mayor sang "The Man of LaMancha" beautifully with a strong perfect voice. The Happy Gang singers entertained with some traditional songs and then we had a slideshow featuring all the volunteering activities. There was plenty of delicious food: quiches, scones, muffins, yoghurt, fresh fruit, a large cake, coffee and tea. All of us had a wonderful time !!!
